The Manchester area M.V.T.

The Trans Lancs Rally is the annual Transport Festival organised by the Greater Manchester Transport Society based at the Museum of Transport, Boyle Street, Cheetham Hill.

The event often referred to as the Heaton Park Rally, keeps its original title The Trans Lancs which dates back to the days when the road run crossed Lancashire.

 Now the name is purely historical and the actual road run is from the Museum of Transport in Cheetham Hill to Heaton Park in Prestwich, a run of approximately 15 miles.

Now this was arguably our first event as an mvt recognized area group as Mssrs Broome and Delaney will be only too anxious to remind us all at regular intervals that they were the sole representatives.

The event was well supported with classic cars, trucks and buses and a dozen or so stalls.

The rain held of making it a pleasant warm afternoon with a friendly atmosphere at a local venue and one well worth looking at attending for next year.
